100W Fast Charging

In recent years, Chinese phone manufacturer equipped their product with hardware which supports features such as fast charging, huge batteries capacity, and optical zoom support. Until very recently, chargers with speeds up to 100W were introduced. This technology is called “Mi Charge Turbo” and can charge a 4,000 mAh battery in just 17 minutes. Although its name is less creative, Xiaomi’s upcoming fast charging technology features the fastest charging ever announced for smartphones.

The 100W number is the maximum value that the USB-C Power Delivery standard can support. Smartphones with a 65 W charger are now available.

In 2018, the 55W Super VOOC Charger with OPPO’s Find X Lamborghini was able to fully charge a 3,730 mAh battery in 35 minutes.

Needless to say, when we received and reviewed the Find X2 Pro and found the 65W Super VOOC 2.0 charger included, the first thing we did on the phone was to charge the battery.

OPPO Find X2 Pro set a new fast-charging record in our tests. We also tested the charging speed of the X2 Pro with the P40 Pro’s 40W supercharger. Proving that these technologies are proprietary and require the brand’s own original charger. Not surprisingly, the Huawei 40W charger takes up to 1 hour and 20 minutes instead of the 38 minutes OPPO promises with X2 Pro’s proprietary 65W charger.
