Oppo Reno Ace 2 5G Comes with Snapdragon 865 SoC, 65W Fast Charging

Oppo Reno Ace 2 is expected to be officially launched on April 13. The official Oppo Reno Ace 2 press photos have now released. This is the introduction of Reno Ace 2 and we already know most of the specifications from the Chinese certification database Tenaa. Images also stored there. The Reno Ace 2 could become one of the cheapest Snapdragon 865 smartphones on the market.

Design and display – Oppo Reno Ace 2

The photos of the Oppo Reno 2 at Tenaa should be used with caution, but they show a punch-hole notch on the front. The round camera module with 4 cameras can also be clearly seen on the back. At only 185 grams, the Reno Ace 2 is one of the lightest smartphones from 2020 and the dimensions also sound promising: 160.0 x 75.4 x 8.6 millimeters. The circular rear camera module appears to protrude 2 millimeters from the back. The power button is on the right in the frame, the volume controls on the left. We already know that from Oppo and especially from Realme.

The punch-hole-notch became a trending feature in 2020 and used in the Oppo Reno Ace 2. Oppo Reno Ace 2 5G has 6.5-inch size, FHD + resolution display AMOLED. The AMOLED display has a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels. The pixel density is clearly lower than the Oppo Find X2, but you will hardly notice when using the phone. The screen refresh rate has not yet announced but considering that the Reno Ace model has a 90 Hz refresh rate, the Ace 2 5G model is 120 Hz. The future predicted at its refresh rate.

Quad Cameras – Oppo Reno Ace 2

The back with the circular quad-camera reminds me a bit of the Nokia 7.2 and a little further away from the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. In any case, it differs clearly from the Find X2 (Pro). It will definitely lag behind the Oppo Find X2 in terms of quality. The Sony IMX686 could be the perfect choice for the Oppo Reno Ace 2 and can easily compete with the best flagships. But at Tenaa, the camera setup listed 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP, consisting of the main camera, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, the 2-megapixel macro camera, and the 2-megapixel depth camera. 16MP is expected to be delivered with a selfie camera.

4,000mAh Battery with 65-watt fast charging

One of the most important things about this device is the battery. With 4000 mAh this is not oversized, but with 65-watt VOOC charging technology, it can charge from 0 to 100% in 30 minutes. While this is not new, the Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro also support this charging speed, but it is still the fastest. Oppo now wants to enter the wireless charging market and so a 40-watt wireless charger is on the program for the launch event. So the Reno Ace 2 should also support wireless charging.

Snapdragon 865

Oppo Reno Ace 2 qualifies for 5G performance like Find X2 series. The Snapdragon 865, currently the fastest smartphone processor, is also part of the compulsory program and therefore also offers 5G reception. To be honest, SD865 makes smartphones today more expensive and not really faster. The Oppo Reno Ace 2 has at least 8/12 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage options.

With the system, you can look forward to Oppos Color OS surface. With the new Oppo Reno Ace 2, of course, based on Android 10. The system shines with many setting options and currently also used by Realme. The Realme UI is ultimately just a new launcher for Color OS because the functions and setting options remain identical there as well.

Oppo Reno Ace 2 : Price

All Snapdragon 865 smartphones are expensive and there is already a price of 500 € in China.  That’s € 100 better than the Oppo Reno Ace, but the second version now has 5G. China is the 5G market par excellence and currently over 50% of all 5G smartphones are sold there. New details about Oppo Reno Ace 2 5G may appear before the launch date. Finally, we would like to remind you that Oppo Reno Ace 2 5G will officially launched on April 13th.
